TEA Signals Action Ahead on Pornography in School Libraries

If you're like me, then you've been outraged to learn that school libraries all across the state have been filled with inappropriate reading material, including books with pornographic images.

Our kids deserve so much better.

If there's a silver lining, it's that Texans of all political persuasions are fighting to protect young minds from these obscenities. The latest high-profile figure to come out in defense of our kids is Texas Education Agency commissioner Mike Morath.

Earlier this week, the commissioner said "swift action" was forthcoming and that he'd be working with various state agencies to address the issue.

On a more local level, the Dripping Springs school board should be doing its own thorough investigation to make sure our school libraries are free from pornography. Parents deserve to have peace of mind on this issue.

I promise that, if I'm elected, I will fight every day to protect our kids from the filth that seems to be infecting so many other school districts.
